Oregon Association for
Career and Technical Education

The mission of the Oregon Association for Career and Technical Education (OACTE) is to promote and support quality career and technical education (CTE) opportunities through leadership, advocacy, professional development, and partnerships.

From the Student Leadership Development Center....(dated 5/28/2009)

OACTE - Please help!

Unless the Oregon legislature returns us to the ODE budget, funding for the Student Leadership Development Center along with our CTSOs - FFA, FBLA, DECA, HOSA, FCCLA, SkillsUSA and AOFC will end on July 1, and along with it an integral part of Career and Technical Education in Oregon.

You can help us by spreading the word about our situation and by contacting Senator Margaret Carter (sen.margaretcarter@state.or.us) and Representative Peter Buckley (rep.peterbuckley@state.or.us), Co-Chairs of the Joint Committee on Ways and Means, as well as your own legislators, urging reinstatement of funding for the Student Leadership Development Center to the Oregon Department of Education budget.

Final budget decisions will be made in the next three weeks, so immediate action is required.

Thank you for your support!
