September 15, 2006

PRESENT:                     Fred Haynes, Tami Volz, Diane Parham,  Kristen Gunson, Karen Jones, Deborah Barnes, Mark Wreath, Marv Clemons, Laura McCoid, Susanne Daggett, Thelma Clemons, Mary Lynn Monroe

NOT PRESENT:           Scott Glitz, Len Eaton, and Jim Schoelkopf

MINUTES:                    Kristen Gunson moved that the minutes of the July 2006 meeting be approved as presented; Marv Clemons seconded; motion carried.

BY-LAWS:                    Tami Volz will make proposed changes in the Board member list of the By-Laws and bring them to the October Board meeting for discussion and approval.  When approved, the changes will go out to the membership for a vote to accept or deny.

ACTE:                           Deborah Barnes, Diane Parham, Kristen Gunson and Mark Wreath will meet with ACTE representatives prior to the NCLA conference in Vancouver, Wa., October 17th.  Diane will set the time and place with ACTE.

LEG. UPDATE:             Deborah Barnes was one of three PTE educators invited to address the ODE Board to discuss diploma requirements.  Interest was expressed in visiting some PTE sights in Oregon.

CONFERENCE:           “Waves of Change, Oceans of Opportunities”

Potential conference sights to replace the Salishan Resort were discussed.  Thelma will contact Salishan to look at options to expand the meeting space.

Diane Parham will update the “request for proposal form”.

Pre-Conference:  Susanne Daggett will meet with Jim Schoelkopf to discuss possible pre-conference topics.  Skill sets, CRLEs for all students and Perkins accountability were suggested options.

Karen Gunson will provide an OACTE update to the Regional Coordinators and CC Deans at the October meeting.  Jim Schoelkopf has agreed to have OACTE on the agenda for all Regional Coordinator/CC Deans meetings.  Kristen will ask for their suggestions for conference topics and discuss mutual professional development efforts.
